Pasco Fire Rescue employee fired for marijuana


Zephyrhills, Florida -- A Pasco County Fire Rescue employee is out of a job after admitting that a small amount of marijuana belonged to him.

Driver-engineer/paramedic Edward Haberle worked at Fire Station 16 in Zephyrhills and was immediately relieved of duty, according to a county press release Monday.

Haberle has been with the Pasco County Fire Department since Oct. 5, 2003.

"Pasco has a zero tolerance policy for illegal drugs, and drug use is not tolerated," the county release said.

Missing and endangered Pasco man


Pasco Sheriff's deputies are searching for an 80-year-old New Port Richey man who was last seen at about 3 p.m. on Monday, June 9th.

Andrew J. Grenier suffers from dementia and is described as having gray hair, blue eyes, a thin build, is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue shorts, and sandals. Grenier was driving a 2003 Tan Chevrolet Astro van, FL tag L334LQ.

Mom wants answers after bus aide slaps son


Port Richey, Florida -- A Pasco County mother wants answers after her autistic son was slapped by a bus aide on the school bus.

The incident was caught on surveillance video and bus aide Jim Lambert is now off the job.

Bus aide caught hitting special needs student


A Pasco County bus assistant has been accused of repeatedly hitting a 10-year-old special needs student.

57-year-old James Lambert has been assisting children on Pasco County Schools' special needs buses since 1998. On Tuesday, the boy told his mother, who called the district.

There is surveillance video on the bus that reportedly shows the entire incident.

"He slaps the kid in the face, more than once and then child hits him back," said Pasco County School Communications director Linda Cobbe.

Deputies arrest suspect in double homicide


Pasco County, Florida -- A Pasco County community is mourning the loss of two of its members.

The bodies of two men, roommates, were found at their home in Holiday Saturday morning off Pleasure Drive and Buena Vista Lane.

They are 56-year old Raymond Rossi and 39-yea-old Jason Heintz.

Around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, deputies announced they arrested 42-year-old Christopher Amy in their deaths. He has been charged with two charges of first degree murder.

Plans unveiled for new Pasco sports facility


Wesley Chapel, Florida -- First a baseball field complex, now an Olympic-sized ice rink that could lure Olympians to train in Pasco County.

Just a few miles from The Fields at Wiregrass, developers closed a deal Thursday to build Cypress Creek Ice and Sports Complex.

Dave Andreychuk was at today's event showing the Lightning's commitment to expanding youth hockey in the Bay area. The new sports complex may also be the future home of USF Hockey. The 150,000-square-foot facility will have four rinks total and a multi-sports center.
