New Port Richey, FL -- Located in the heart of downtown and filled with creative classes and programs, The New Port Richey Library is currently nominated for Best Small Library in America.

In 2006, it was awarded Florida's first Library of the Year by the Library Association.

The library has been there for 90 years.

What many people may not know is that the library itself is older than the city of New Port Richey.

Henry David Thoreau once said, "Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries."

The library offers a number of free classes and programs for the public.

The library is located at 5939 Main St. in New Port Richey.

Their phone number is 727-853-1279.
