New Port Richey, FL -- Mitchell High School students came out today to help the family of their friend, Cierra Mamonoff, who was killed on Wednesday morning when she was hit by a car when she tried to cross Little Road on her way to school.

Friends of Mamonoff held a car wash today from 10 a.m. to noon at the 7-Eleven on 7320 State Road 54 in New Port Richey to help Cierra's family pay for the funeral costs.

Cierra's good friend, 10th-grader Joseph Marrone, said the car wash was doing well and they had a lot of donations coming in.

It was a good turnout of students who all came out to support their friend's family.

"She was outgoing, funny, loving, caring, always wanted to have fun, friendly, loyal to everyone. Even if you were in a fight with her she still had your back," Marrone said. "That's the kind of person she was and that's why all these people are here, cause she was really a true friend to everybody."

The visitation and funeral will be on Monday, Jan. 24 at Generations Christian Church, 1540 Little Road in Trinity. Visitation begins at 3 p.m., with the funeral at 4 p.m.

Anyone who would like to make a donation can go to any Regions Bank and say you want to make donation to the Cierra Mamonoff memorial.
