New Port Richey has a new Community Garden Project

New Port Richey, Florida -- There is a unique opportunity for the New Port Richey Community to be part of history as together we initiate sustainability projects that are models for the state of Florida.

Join the community at the New Port Richey Public Library where Tasty Tuesday, a weekly organic farmers' market held in the library courtyard and Check out Seeds at Your NPR Public Library and Start your Own Community Garden!

The library's seed exchange, one of a kind within our watershed, promotes the concept of growing your own healthy, affordable food, harvesting seeds, and sharing with others.

The New Port Richey Community Garden Project, based on the City's new urban agriculture ordinance, encourages the use of vacant lots for gardening by local residents. Together, these two initiatives spur ecological awareness, encourage local food production, and inspire community involvement.
