Port Richey, Florida - "Somebody Cares Pasco" and local ministers were pleased to participate in the annual backpack giveaway last Saturday, August 13.

Last year, the group collected 700 backpacks at a grand total of $6,000.

This was the eighth year for the event.

Thanks to the generosity of the people of Pasco County, children who are less fortunate are able to receive a high quality backpack for the new school year.

The Somebody Cares Pasco group and local pastors partner with church groups and community organizations to compile the backpacks for kids each year.

Thankful parents and single mothers have shown their gratitude each year with huge smiles and warm hearts knowing their children will not go without for the school year.
