Man calls 911 to complain about noise from deputy, neighbors | Crime
New Port Richey, Florida -- A man reportedly so drunk and upset about the noise in his neighborhood didn't even realize he was talking to a Pasco Sheriff's deputy and refused to heed warnings not to call 911 to complain.
A deputy reported they crossed paths with James Preston while responding to a call next door on Washington Street. The deputy reported they could hear Preston yelling "shut the f--- up over there" which prompted neighbors to tell the deputy Preston did that all the time and constantly yells at everyone in the neighborhood.
When the deputy, in full uniform, made contact with Preston and identified themselves as an officer, Preston stated, "I don't give a damn, you need to shut the f--- up and go away before I call the real police." The deputy reported they told Preston, who appeared to be drunk, to only use 911 for emergencies to which he replied, "F--- you, go away!"
Preston obviously didn't listen because once the deputy left, he called 911 and told the dispatcher "the police need to shut all of the people up and the people there said they were police and they needed to shut up too," according to the report.
When the deputy went back to Preston's home, he continued to yell about the noise. Preston refused to back down was arrested for misuse of 911.
