Police: Shooting at chiropractic office over a woman

Holiday, Florida -- The shooting at a Holiday chiropractic office on Monday that left a man in critical condition was over a woman, according to deputies.

The Pasco Sheriff's Office released their police report on the incident Friday which states the victim, Jaime Velez, told police at the scene he had received text messages from Lenny Linardos stating that Velez's girlfriend was at the chiropractic office performing leud acts on him.

Velez then said he never came into West Coast Spine and Injury Center through the back, but through the front door.

While exact details about what went down are not yet known, police did say an argument between the two men began and Linardos shot Velez, who was armed with a gun, in self-defense.

"We believe Jaime Velez and Dr. Lenny Linardos were involved in some type of domestic dispute and Velez arrived to the office yesterday [Monday] morning armed with a gun," the sheriff's office said on Feb. 18. "A confrontation ensued between the two men and Linardos, who was also armed, fired his weapon injuring Velez."

While police were gathering Linardos' personal information, they report Linardos said, "this was all over a girl, all over a girl."

Velez was shot three times: twice in the lower body and once the back.
