Naked man slaps officer in face

Lutz, Florida -- A 25-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he attacked a deputy responding to a call about a naked man causing a disturbance outside a Lutz home.

The deputy arrived at the home in the 1800 block of Tinsmith Circle around 6 a.m. after a neighbor called police to report Morris Reynolds was "completely naked and jumping up and down awakening and startling neighbors."

Man makes federal reserve notes out of his bedroom

Port Richey, Florida -- A Port Richey man was arrested over the weekend for forging Federal Reserve Notes out of his bedroom.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say Jody Barone used about 10 printers to produce numerous counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes (FRN's) in all denominations from $1 to $100. 

Driver sought in hit and run of 13-year-old bicyclist

New Port Richey, Florida -- Authorities are asking for any information on a hit and run crash involving a 13-year-old girl Friday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say around 4:04 p.m. Friday, a Toyota Camry was heading north on US Hwy 19 at Avery Road when the car hit the teen who was crossing the highway on her bicycle.

The girl was taken to St. Joseph's All Children's Hospital with serious injuries.

After the crash, the driver of the Camry fled the scene and was last seen making a U-turn and heading south on US Hwy 19.

Pasco County, Florida -- Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco is pleased to announce that registration has begun for the next Sheriff's Citizen Academy, which is scheduled from November 5 - 21.

The academy provides citizens with valuable information about law enforcement in general and specifically about services provided by the Pasco Sheriff's Office. The Academy consists of six classes conducted twice a week for a two-week period. 

Beware of scam artists claiming to be IRS

New Port Richey, Florida -- Brian Sheehan of Pasco County says something didn't seem right when he got a phone call Tuesday from someone claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service.

"It was so bold and true and hard not to believe," Sheehan recalled to 10 News.

The man on the phone said Sheehan owed $3,600 in back taxes, had two hours to pay up or his wages would be garnished, his truck seized and a lien placed on his assets.

Yet most IRS offices are closed because of the government shutdown and Sheehan started getting suspicious as the conversation wore on.

Mans robs bank while talking on the phone

New Port Richey, Florida -- Pasco Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help identifying the man who robbed a New Port Richey bank Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say the man walked into the bank in the 2900 block of Little Road and passed the teller a note demanding money while talking on his cell phone.

After getting the cash, the man put the money into a blue bank bag and left the bank on foot towards the south side of the building where it is believed he got into a unknown type of vehicle.

No one was hurt in the robbery, and no weapon was seen.

Deadly Pasco mobile home fire now a homicide investigation

Zephyrhills, Florida -- Pasco Sheriff's deputies say the death of a man found in a mobile home fire is now a murder investigation.

Deputies say they believe the fire was set to the Zephyrhills mobile home intentionally to cover evidence of the murder of 58-year-old Richard Massey. His cause of death is not being released at this time as detectives investigate.

Massey's body was found around 4:00 a.m. and from the beginning Pasco County detectives thought the fire suspicious in nature.
