Student arrested after claiming he had gun in locker

Holiday, Florida -- An Anclote High School student who recently moved to the state was arrested Friday for disrupting a school function.

Authorities say the student, who is not being identified, did not want to go to the school's pep rally so he said he had a gun in his locker. 

After a search of the boy's locker, no weapon was found.

Pasco student arrested after fake bomb found in backpack

Hudson, Florida -- A Hudson High School student was arrested Wednesday after his grandmother found what appeared to be an explosive device in his backpack.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say the items found inside consisted of a black device with two wicks at the top and bottom which was packed in electrical tape and appeared to be a homemade explosive or grenade. There were also four bullet casings that appeared to have a sealed wick at the top.

City manager's DUI arrest could force investigation

NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida -- When Cpl. William Phillips was called to check on an unconscious driver along Astor Drive in New Port Richey, he found who he recognized to be former city manager Thomas O'Neill passed out behind the wheel. 

Cpl. Phillips then called his supervisor, FHP and officers from Port Richey Police where O'Neill currently serves as city manager.

Woman naked from waist down arrested for DUI

Hudson, Florida -- Deputies got quite a show when they pulled over a woman who was caught speeding on U.S. 19 in Pasco County around 3:50 a.m. Saturday.

Deputies say when they pulled over 46-year-old Stephanie Eck and approached her car, they not only noticed the strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath -- but the fact she was not wearing any pants or underwear.

FHP: Pedestrian killed in hit and run crash

Hudson, Florida -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for the driver involved in a crash on U.S. 19 just south of Stahl Drive that killed a pedestrian Sunday night.

Troopers say the vehicle sought is a white, mid-1990's Dodge pickup truck with a black pinstripe. It was last seen heading northbound on U.S. 19 after hitting the yet unidentified pedestrian.

Burglar dumps homeowner's relative's ashes in tub, toilet

Zephyrhills, Florida -- Stealing sentimental items and dumping ashes from a relative of the homeowner into the tub and toilet are just some of the things a man is accused of doing during a burglary.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say on April 28, Elvis Prechtl is accused of breaking into a home he temporarily resided in with a woman and stealing a number of items he knew were important to her -- in addition to dumping her father's ashes into the tub and toilet.

Cops: Toddlers found wandering, nearly hit by traffic

New Port Richey, Florida -- A woman who was watching over two young children has been arrested for child neglect after they were found wandering on State Road 54 on Wednesday morning.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say the two children were rescued by employees from Storybook School House after they were almost hit by a vehicle as they wandered into oncoming traffic near Grand Boulevard.
