Suspects caught in Citrus Park shooting of 3 women

Citrus Park, Florida -- Hillsborough County deputies say they've arrested the two men they believe are responsible for a Citrus Park shooting on Sunday that left two women dead and one in the hospital.

Detectives say Jason Burnett, who has several prior arrests in Hillsborough County, was behind the shooting and robbery of victims Fern Giddings, Nell Mason, and Mason's daughter, Christina Soto.

The other suspect, Gary Honish, knew the victims and may have even done drug deals with them in the past, according to deputies.

9 arrested in unlicensed contractors sting

Pasco County, Florida -- An undercover sting operation of unlicensed building contractors in Pasco County resulted in the arrest of nine people over the weekend.

In all, the nine men were arrested for various charges including working without workers' compensation, contracting without a license and violation of probation.

Man charged with growing marijuana, animal abuse

Port Richey, Florida -- A call by neighbors of a robbery in progress at a Port Richey home resulted in the discovery of a grow house operation and signs of dog fighting.

When Pasco Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home in the 7100 block of Nova Scotia Drive, neighbors told them someone was inside the home and, according to the owner, no one should be there. Deputies found the front door ajar and when they went inside they found two rooms housing about 70 marijuana plants.

Ex-NFL player sentenced to 17 years for drug trafficking

Zephyrhills, Florida -- Former Washington Redskins player and Zephyrhills native John Wesley Wilson, also known as Ted Wilson, was sentenced Wednesday to 17 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearms offenses.

Wilson's sentence includes 12 years' imprisonment for three drug-related charges, followed by a mandatory consecutive five years in prison for possessing a firearm.

START Program at Holiday Lakes Estates

START Program at Holiday Lakes Estates

Pasco County, Florida -- The Pasco Sheriff's Office will be conducting a START program (Sheriff's Targeted Area Response Team) in the Holiday Lakes Estates community on Thursday, May 2 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This program is a full canvasing of the area.  There will have multiple units from the PSO (Warrants, Vice & Narcotics, Patrol, STEP, Motors, Mounted Posse, CSU), Florida Parole and Probation, Pasco County Code Enforcement, Tarpon Springs Police Department.

13-year-old chokes Pasco teacher

New Port Richey, Florida -- A 13-year-old student at AMI Kids Pasco was arrested at school Thursday morning after he attacked his teacher who tried to get between him and another student.

Fellow classmates told police the teen was getting into it with another student over a seat in the classroom when the teacher stepped in. That's when, they say, he put the teacher in a choke hold, cutting off her airway -- and he continued until other students pulled him off of her.

Woman's face disfigured with broken bottle during bar fight

Dade City, Florida -- A woman was hospitalized after she was attacked by a broken beer bottle during a fight with a fellow customer outside a Dade City bar over the weekend.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, 34-year-old Sahlonda Brockington and the woman were leaving Cooper's Bar on Center Street when the two got into an argument.

At one point, Brockington broke a bottle and used it to stab the woman in the face causing permanent disfigurement. At the hospital, the deputy noted in his report she had multiple deep cuts on her nose and forehead.
