New Port Richey, Florida -- Pasco EcoFest is evolving, this year with a focus on growing the local economy and culture in West Central Florida.

Pasco EcoFest 2013 is on the calendar for November 8, 9 & 10 providing a great opportunity for families and eco adventurers from Florida and beyond a mini-vacation right here in Pasco County that can be customized to fit personal tastes from high energy adventure to mellow meanderings.

Bring the entire family to this fun event which will include food and entertainment! There will be a schedule throughout the festival that will give times to participate in hands-on education and experiences. You can learn how to create your own palet garden and participate in a sunset yoga!

With the expectation of thousands of visitors at this popular event, the planning committee is looking for a variety of vendors to be a part of the festivities. Vendor opportunities can include fresh produce, garden art, non-profit organizations, designers of handcrafted jewelry and homemade items. Project managers Kira and Kacey Atkinson, graduates from USF's Environmental Science and Policy program, are at the helm of this county-sponsored event for the second year and look forward to making it an event the community can be proud of.

"We're really excited about the enthusiasm we're seeing from people we talk to about this event," says co-manager Kira Atkinson. "It's nice to know there are so many like-minded people living in this area who want to get involved in making Pasco an awesome place to live."

Pasco EcoFest 2013 will span three days at two different locations-Sims Park and Starkey Park. Guests will have the opportunity to explore beautiful West Pasco by kayaking, wading through swamps, and learning about native plants and medicinal herbs on nature walks through Starkey Park. They will also have the chance to learn about our native wildlife through interactive exhibits and talks.
With a focus on sustainable living education, PEF will also be offering a wide variety of free workshops geared toward skills guests can easily incorporate into their daily lives. This event will also incorporate a fine art show, kayaking, geocaching, live music and entertainment, a drum circle, the Eco Market, free yoga, belly dancing and hoop dancing workshops, kid's art and public art projects, stargazing, vintage Volkswagen showcase and parts swap, and food trucks.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and organizations, large and small that wish to get involved in enhancing the culture of West Pasco.  The event managers are also seeking green businesses or businesses who offer green products and services to partner with for this event.
