Rescue group seeks help for severely neglected dog
News

New Port Richey, Florida -- A non-profit animal rescue group is asking for the public's help with a severely neglected dog that was recently rescued.

The dog, named "Gwendolyn", arrived at Rugaz Rescue suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection; painful, swollen paws that are double in size due to an untreated yeast infection in her paws and ears; a generalized staph infection due to poor living conditions; numerous intestinal parasites and heartworm disease.

The rescue group says her mammories are also infected due to being bred constantly which continue to break open when she scratches them.

Surprisingly, the group says she has a very gentle, forgiving and sweet personality.

"She is one of the worst starvation cases I've seen but Gwendolyn just has an incredible spirit," said Rugaz Founder & Director Devilyn Saunders, "that is what is keeping her going."

She is currently in stable condition at Regency Park Animal Hospital in New Port Richey where they are working to keep her as comfortable as possible while they help her recover.

Rugaz Rescue is asking for donations to help give "Gwendolyn" medical care. Donations can be made directly to the Regency Park Animal Hospital at 727-848-6247 or via paypal at the non-profit's website, www.RugazRescue.com.
