New Port Richey police investigating murder/suicide | News
NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida - Police are investigating what they believe to be a murder/suicide after a man and woman were found dead Monday afternoon in a house along the 6000 block of Maplewood Drive.
Investigators said they have identified the female victim as Tina Diane Lane. According to authorities, one of Lane's daughters returned home from school and found the man's body. Around 2:30 in the afternoon, 911 received a call. When officers arrived at the house, they said they also discovered Lane's body in a different part of the house.
Police add that Lane died of injuries due to blunt force trauma. Investigators said the man, who she knew, hanged himself.
A neighbor remembered hearing arguments from the house, while taking daily walks around the neighborhood with her daughter.
"I always heard yelling and screaming coming from that house 'cause the windows were always open. Just had a bad feeling," said Bambi Crowl. "I hate seeing it so close in my neighborhood. There's so many kids here, and it scares us. It really does."
The man in this murder/suicide has not yet been identified. Police said he did not live in the house and was not a relative.
