A large Canadian high pressure has plummeted south into the eastern U.S. bringing cold air all the way down to Florida. We are waking up to Wind Chill Advisories this morning and Freeze Warnings for tonight and likely tomorrow night. That cold air is blowing in on northwest winds that will stay in the 10-20 mph range through this afternoon. A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued until 9 a.m. for Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk counties as it will feel like 30-35 degrees at times this morning. Skies will be clear and sunny today, but the cold air will only allow us to warm to the mid 50s today when the typical high is 73!
Even colder air arrives tonight and near record temperatures will be reached by early Tuesday morning. Widespread low 30s are expected tonight with areas in Hernando, Sumter and Citrus county reaching the mid 20s. These numbers are within 1-2 degrees of record lows. A Freeze Warning has been issued for all counties tonight except for Pinellas. Citrus and Sumter counties have a Hard Freeze Warning as temperatures in the mid 20s are expected there. The cold snap continues Tuesday and Tuesday night with more Freeze Warnings likely.
A gradual warm-up begins Wednesday bringing us back to the low 70s by the end of the weekend, but another cold snap arrives once again next Monday! Get ready for round two!

Tonight: Freeze Warnings all but Pinellas County. Winds NW 5-10 mph with a low of 36 in Tampa, but low 30s to mid 20s north and east of Tampa. Lows will dip to the mid 30 for the southern coastal areas.
Marine Forecast: Small Craft Advisories are in effect until Tuesday evening as NW winds continue to blow 15-20 kts with seas 3-5'. Winds and seas will decrease Tuesday afternoon.
