Red Cross opens shelter for apartment fire residents | News
New Port Richey, FL -- The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for the residents displaced from the apartment fire in New Port Richey.
Volunteers responded to help over 25 people affected by the fire that killed a man at the Ridge Gardens apartments Wednesday morning.

The Red Cross says at least four units in the complex are destroyed and power has been cut off to the entire building of 23 occupied units.
The shelter is located at the First Presbyterian Church in New Port Richey. Volunteers are staffing the shelter around the clock. Case workers will also meet with each family to determine further assistance.
