It's a record year for Pasco County tourism

Pasco County, Florida -- Pasco County Tourism is celebrating a record year as the destination’s bed tax* collections reportedly increased nearly 20 percent for Fiscal Year 11/12.

The final month of September and the fourth financial quarter ended Pasco County’s second highest tourism revenue season in more than two decades.

Walmart workers plan 1,000 protests on Black Friday

Tampa, Florida- The Thanksgiving Holiday shopping weekend is starting earlier this year. While shoppers may like it some Walmart employees don't. Across the country some Walmart workers have planned 1,000 non-violent protests.

Walmart shoppers in Pasco County start shopping for the good deals before serving up Thanksgiving dinner. One customer is trying to avoid the crowds, and any unhappy Walmart employees.

Bicyclist passes away after traffic crash

Lutz, FL-- Robert Haines II, the bicyclist involved in a traffic crash with a Ford Thunderbird, passed away from his injuies at St. Joseph's Hospital. 

After the accident occurred on Thursday, November 15, it was reported that Haines' injuries were life-threatening. 

Officials did not say the driver of the car, 69-year-old Carlos Adames, was at fault, will be charged for the accident.

County offices to close for Thanksgiving holiday

Pasco County, Florida -- Pasco County Government offices, including the constitutional offices and the courts, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23 in observance of Thanksgiving. All government offices and the courts will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26.

The Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, Friday, Nov. 23, and Saturday, Nov. 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. The office will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26.

Public invited to Tobacco-Free Partnership Meeting

Public invited to Tobacco-Free Partnership Meeting

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Rasmussen College will host a meeting for The Partnership for a Tobacco-Free Pasco on Nov. 29.

The meeting is open to all as well as service organizations, business community, national tobacco control partners and others who have a personal or professional stake in tobacco control.

There will be a presentation and discussion of community initiatives relating to employee cessation, multi-unit housing, tobacco-free schools, SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) and candy-flavored tobacco.
