Fundraisers scheduled for Sheriff Nocco campaign

Pasco County, Florida -- Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco will make appearances at two Pasco locations over the next couple of weeks to help raise money for his campaign to remain Sheriff.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, an event will be held at the Pasco County Fairgrounds at the Dan Cannon Building on Dade City. At this fundraiser, attendees can donate as much as they want. There will also be food at the event from 6 - 9 p.m.

Zephyrhills, Florida -- Zephyrhills is looking for a new Fire Chief.

This opening comes after Chief Keith Williams suddenly resigned to take a position with the Sumter County Fire Department as a shift commander with the department.

Williams is denying any problems in Zephyrhills that motivated him to leave and take on a new position.

This isn't his first position like this. He says it's similar to the position he held in Tampa, before coming to Zephyrhills.

New Port Richey, Florida-- Pasco County began assisting residents who stayed overnight at the Fasano Regional Hurricane Shelter back to their residences. 

The county encourages residents to continue being cautious, despite the National Weather Service's removal of tropical storm warnings for Pasco.

There's a new kind of painting out there called,"Flippin' Fabulous"!

People are encouraged to join others this Friday, August 24 at 7 p.m. in Trinity.

The cost is $45 for a three-hour class.

It's FUN art, not fine art! Anyone, can be an artist, organizers say, and encourage people to try this!

Residents invited to 'Coffee with the City Manager

New Port Richey, Florida -- City residents are invited to have “Coffee with the City Manager” on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the New Port Richey Library Meeting Room, 5939 Main Street.

At this City Manager meeting, Manager John Schneiger will discuss current issues and listen to resident questions and concerns.

The free event is open to everyone so take advantage of this great opportunity to meet and share your opinions with City Manager John Schneiger.

Solar system art exhibit on display in Pasco County

Solar system art exhibit on display in Pasco County

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Artist Gordon Engebretson, from Land O' Lakes, has been working hard to create a Pasco County exhibit that will have you seeing stars!

The exhibit, called From the Sun to Pluto, is a one-mile scaled model of the solar system. In addition to being visual and artistic, you can hear a lot from the fun facts compiled by Michelle Cordeiro.

Investigation Station is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony that will take place on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. on the Starkey Park bicycle path, nearest to Shelter 5.
