Man hit, killed in US 19 crash

Holiday, Florida -- A Palm Harbor man was killed while trying to cross US Hwy 19 in the Holiday area early Wednesday morning.

The FHP says Paul Conklin, 50, was hit by a Jeep driven by 20-year-old Kaila Jean around 1:30 a.m. near Panorama Avenue.

Troopers closed the northbound lanes of US 19 for about 1-and-a-half hours while they investigated the incident. Authorities say alcohol was not a factor and Jean was not injured. 

The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.

Attendees will enjoy spaghetti, meatballs, tossed salad, garlic bread, dessert, and beverages.

The cost of the dinner is $10.

Dade City, Florida -- The Dade City Center for the Arts/HiBrow Gallery is offering it's annual Summer Camp for the children.

This camp will hold three, 3-week sessions from June 11 through Aug. 17 for children 4 years to 7 years and children 8 years and up (there will be no camp the week fo July 4).

The morning sessions will concentrate on the visual arts for both age groups and for the first time, the afternoon session will consists of an Introduction to the Theater/Performing Arts.

Man wanted in Holiday shooting found by U.S. Marshals

Holiday, Florida -- A man wanted in connection with the January shooting of another man in Holiday was arrested by U.S. Marshals agents in Stuart, Florida Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force says they received information that Troy Garner, Jr. was at a home in Stuart and were able to locate and arrest him Wednesday morning. The Martin County Sheriff's Office assisted in the arrest.
