Holiday jewelry-making class to be held at the Downtown New Port Richey Art Gallery

New Port Richey, Fla. (November 28, 2013) – Community residents and visitors are invited to create holiday jewelry on Thursday, December 12 at the New Port Richey Art Gallery, located at 6231 Grand Blvd. in the historic downtown area. The Gallery is located next to the Richey Suncoast Theater.

Tampa jewelry artist Debra Peisner, a local favorite, will assist students in creating one of three selections for the holidays. Students can choose to design an etched metal Christmas tree pendant, or a Star of David pendant, or a “Festivus for the Restivus” holiday-themed beaded bracelet.

Elderly nutrition’s Dade City dining site closed for 2 weeks

Pasco County, Florida -- The Elderly Nutrition's Dade City Dining Site will be closed for repairs from October 21 to November 1. 

During this time period, registered congregate diners are welcome to attend the Trilby Dining Site, located at the Tribly United Methodist Church at 37504 Trilby Road. To insure a meal is available on the day of attendance, reservations must be made before 12:00 p.m. the previous day.

Pasco County, Florida -- Come down to the Fairgrounds Greenhouse in Dade City for a plant sale on Saturday. 

The sale will feature lots of Florida friendly plants. There will also be a bonus animal adoption!

The Fairgrounds greenhouse is located at 3670 SR 52 in Dade City, Florida 33525.

The sale will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5.

Pasco County Animal Services reopens for dog adoptions after Parvovirus outbreak

Pasco County, Florida-- Pasco County Animal Services has announced a grand reopening event after an outbreak of Parvovirus caused them to discontinue dog adoption services for nearly a month. The "Dog Independence Day" event will offer free adoptions of both, dogs and cats, this Saturday, July 27.

New curbside recycling- just put a sticker on it!

Pasco County, Florida -- In mid- June the county is changing to a new recycling program where people can use whatever container they want to keep their recyclables in- as long as it has a sticker on it. 

The county is distributing this sticker in the mail. It is highly adhesive and highly reflective. The idea is that a person can choose a can, cart or bin, put a sticker on it and put it on the curb for recycling day. 

The sticker will identify the contents as recyclable to the trash collector.

SmithFaith Thrift Shop Fundraiser

New Port Richey, Florida - The SmileFaith Thrift Shop is opening to the public as a charity fundraising event.

Organizers describe the location as a friendly, clean, and fun place to shop. 

There's a wide variety of items to choose from.

All proceeds go toward restoring smiles through the SmileFaith Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable dental organization.

The group is also accepting donations.

On Saturday May 4th, Lutz community members will have a HUGE yard sale you can participate in and of course scoop up some great deals!

There will be live entertainment and even a chance for Karaoke sing-a-longs!

The yard sale is presented by the Lutz Citizens Coalition & Co Sponsored by Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation.
