21 will pile into VW Bug in attempt to reclaim Guinness World Record

Pasco County, Florida (via Ed Caum, Visit Pasco) -- The “Let It Be…etle” bus and any other Volkswagens imaginable. That’s what those attending the 23rd annual Pasco Bug Jam can expect, according to Carol Jeffares Hedman, event coordinator.

“Let It Be…etle” is the theme of this year’s Bug Jam, set for Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Pasco County Fairgrounds in Dade City. The Bug Jam traditionally draws more than 500 VWs in the show, plus hundreds of new and used parts vendors. There is also entertainment, children’s games, and food.

This year organizers also hope to reclaim their Guinness Book of World Record title for most people crammed into an old-style VW Beetle. They set that record in 2009 by squeezing 17 into an old Beetle at the Bug Jam, breaking the previous record of 15 set in 2008 in Brazil. But on Dec. 9, 2010, in Lexington, KY, a group of 20 young adults, primarily Asbury University students, crammed into a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle and broke the Bug Jam’s record.

New Port Richey, Florida - Residents of a Pasco County neighborhood say they're living in fear and frustration because of a violent neighbor who they feel has a drinking problem.

Neighbors say not only does McDaniel have an overgrown, trash-filled yard, but he can often be seen urinating in it. He's also known to shout profanities at those who walk past his house.

DADE CITY, Florida -- She is the executive director of the Pasco Housing Authority, but when we tried to ask her questions, Dade City Police Chief Ray Velboom and four other officers kept us away from Karen Turner.  Turner is the target of a whistleblower lawsuit and complaints alleging violations of the law, illegal acts, and false overtime payments.

10 News asked former manager Pat Driscoll if everyone knew what was going on and he told us they did, but Turner was the boss and there was not much that could be done.

The whistleblower's complaint says Driscoll was paid for working when he was actually having sexual intercourse with the executive director, Karen Turner. Driscoll admits that not only was his overtime padded, but he was also finishing a session of oral sex with Turner when co-worker Maggie Taffs walked in. Taffs, who was fired, has filed a whistleblower lawsuit.

Port Richey bride busted on her wedding day

Blackman Township, Michigan -- Tammy Lynn Hinton probably won't ever forget the day she got married.  She has the wedding mug shot to remind her.

The new bride, still in her wedding gown and veil, was arrested on several two-year-old counts of identity theft shortly after she exchanged vows at the City of Zion Ministries church in Jackson, Michigan.

Hinton, 51, listed her address as a post office box in Port Richey.  Investigators in Michigan believed she had moved to Florida, but got tips she'd be back in town for Saturday's wedding.

Blackman Township Public Safety Officer Rick Gillespie told the Jackson Citizen Patriot newspaper Hinton was held for less than half an hour before her new husband picked her up.

Gillespie says officers gave Hinton the chance to change her clothes before being taken to jail but she declined.
