Dade City's First Thursday on April 5

Dade City, Florida-- Saint Leo University and Downtown Dade City Main Street sponsor Dade City's First Thursday event.

The event welcomes families and their pets to come out from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. to enjoy free live music on the streets in Downtown Dade.

They encourage attendees to bring their own lawn chairs, and leave any coolers and alcoholic beverages behind.

30th Annual Florida Old Time Music Championship

Dade City, Florida -- This weekend the 30th Annual Florida Old Time Music Championship comes home to The Pioneer Florida Museum. 

This will be the first time the event has been held at the museum since 1982.

The 2012 Guests of Honor are Moonshine Holler, consisting of Paula Bradley & Bill Dillof.  Attendees can camp for $10 a night, $12 at the gate.

African American Club of Pasco travels to Mims

African American Club of Pasco travels to Mims

Pasco County, Florida-- According to a release from the African American Club of Pasco, they will sponsor a bus tour to Mims, Florida on April 21 to celebrate the lives and sacrifices of civil rights martyrs, Harry and Harriet Moore at the 9th Annual Harry T. Moore Heritage Festival.

Harry and Harriet Moore worked to register African Americans in Florida for years during the 30s and 40s, and they were assassinated in their Mims home on December 25, 1951.

Meet the artist at HiBrow Gallery

Dade City, Fla. - HiBrow Gallery invites the public to meet artist Patricia Prettyman March 17 at 2 p.m.

Patricia is originally from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She married her husband, William in 1959 and, due to his military career, have traveled to and lived in many states and two foreign countries. They have four grown daughters. When William retired from the Air Force they settled down in Brandon, Florida where they lived for 22 years before moving to Pasco County.

WWII Museum fundraiser in Zephyrhills

Zephyrhills, Florida -- Bivouac & Barracks will be the 6th annual fundraiser event in support of Zephyrhills WWII Barracks Museum.

The event will include military vehicle displays, WWII encampments, weapons demonstrations and a WWII battle re-enactment.  In addition, our vintage C-47 airplane restoration project will be on display.
