Goodwill chooses Trinity for its 8th superstore location

Trinity, Florida -- If you've noticed some clearing of land in the Trinity area on the southeast corner of SR 54 and Corporate Center Drive, you'll be happy to know its because Goodwill will be opening its eighth superstore there.

The 26,000-square-foot store will employ approximately 47 people, creating new jobs in Pasco County, including possibly the 17 employees currently working at the smaller store in Port Richey that company representatives say will likely close in conjunction with the superstore opening.

Dade City, Florida -- The Dade City Commissioners showed support for entrepreneurs on Tuesday evening by approving $50,000 to launch Pasco County’s first business incubator. The incubator will be located in the Dade City Business Center and managed by a team led by the Pasco Economic Development Council, Inc.

“With the actions last night of the City Commission and approval of the incubator plan by the Pasco EDC Board this morning, the Dade City Incubator project takes a huge step towards reality,” said Jimmy Adcock, regional manager for Tampa Electric People’s Gas.

Lutz, Florida -- A man who has been compared to Warren Buffet and whose family has a historical connection to the county is joining the Pasco Economic Development Council, Inc.

Andrew V. "Drew" Pittman has joined the Pasco EDC Board of Directors and says he's ready for the opportunity.

"It's an exciting time to be involved in Pasco," Pittman said. "Pasco County is on the move and I am looking forward to helping contribute to the growth, development, and creation of jobs here in the community I grew up in."

Supervisor of Elections recognizes Adopt-A-Precinct participants

Pasco County Florida -- Supervisor of Elections Brian E. Corley has recognized 14 Pasco County organizations who agreed to "Adopt-A-Precinct" during the 2012 Election cycle earning over $35,000 for local charities.     

Local clubs and organizations use the "Adopt-A-Precinct" program as a way to give back to the community through civic duty, at the same time earning money for charity.

Career Central's Mobile One-Stop comes to Dade City tomorrow

Dade City, Florida -- Career Central's Mobile One-Stop bus will be at the new courthouse parking lot tomorrow, Dec. 11.

For any residents looking for work, you can use the mobile service to create and print resumes, access local statewide job listings and receive referrals to, and information about, the programs of Career Central. 

The bus will be parked at the courthouse from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown near the Hugh Embry Library.
