Pasco County, Florida -- In recognition of World Habitat Day 2012, Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County will be featured at the Tampa Bay Rays game against the Orioles, on Oct. 1, to address the need for decent housing around the world, including in Pasco County.

Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco will have a table set up during the game to hand out information and will hold a free drawing for a Tampa Bay Rays' memorabilia item. Habitat for Humanity will be mentioned during announcements throughout the game.

Habitat is currently selling discounted tickets to this game, through Sept. 1, on their website, www.habitatpasco.org.  A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco.

"Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County is very excited to team up with the Tampa Bay Rays for World Habitat Day and we are grateful for the Ray's invitation and support. The Rays Community Corner helps local nonprofit organizations raise awareness for their causes. Throughout the season, Rays Community Corner is host to local groups who are given the opportunity to share their mission with dedicated Rays fans. Rays Fans have the opportunity to purchase pre-sale discounted tickets from us and Habitat gets a donation, It is a win for everyone," said Stephanie Bracknell Black, director of development & public relations at Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County in a release.

Beginning on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, and continuing throughout October and November, Habitat for Humanity and affiliated organizations will host hundreds of local events - from builds and flash mobs to parades, contests, housing forums and everything in between - to draw attention to the need for safe, decent, affordable shelter for all. Habitat for Humanity International will also launch its annual Shelter Report, which will focus on the role of the home in a neighborhood's progression.
