Everyday is a new adventure at the Habitat ReStore

Everyday is a new adventure at the Habitat ReStore

At the Habitat ReStore everyday is a new adventure because every day the inventory changes. You never know what treasures you will find. The ReStore sells new and used building materials, appliances, furniture, and home improvement items to the public. Materials are donated by local retail businesses, building contractors, suppliers and individuals, and are made available for sale to the public at discounted prices. The Restore reuses, restores, repuposes, and recycles useable materials.

Volunteer: The Habitat ReStore relies on its volunteers to assist our staff with the selling, pricing, organizing, and pick-up of merchandise. Volunteering at Habitat ReStore is a great way to be involved with Habitat for Humanity!

Month-long observance by Habitat for Humanity

Month-long observance by Habitat for Humanity
In the United States, 95 million people live in overcrowded or poor-quality conditions, have house payments too large for their incomes, or face homelessness. World Habitat Day on October 3 helped bring attention to the critical need for housing around the world.

This worldwide day of action and advocacy kicked off a month-long observance by Habitat for Humanity. Activities include hundreds of local events around the world, the dedication of Habitat’s 500,000th house, the wall-raising on Habitat’s 500,001st house, the release of the 2012 Shelter Report, and a Build Hope event recognizing humanitarian leadership — all culminating in the 2011 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project Nov. 5-12 in Léogâne, Haiti.

Habitat for Humanity ranks as No. 6 homebuilder

Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco's work to provide affordable housing in Pasco County has helped Habitat for Humanity International rank as the sixth largest homebuilder on Builder magazine's top 100 list. With 6,032 closings in 2010, this is the second time Habitat for Humanity has placed in the top 10.

"Our placement on the Builder 100 list is a testament to what can be accomplished when people work together," said Larry Gluth, senior vice president of U.S. and Canada for Habitat for Humanity International. "So many families in the United States and around the world face an incredible need for affordable housing, and this need only increases during challenging economic times. Habitat works every day to help these families, and we are grateful for the generosity of our donors, volunteers and advocates who have joined our efforts to help families obtain safe, decent and affordable homes and to strengthen communities."
