Zephyrhills, Florida -- 10 News -WTSP has teamed up with WQYK 99.5 FM, Florida Blood Services, and Sweetbay Supermarkets to sponsor "Ten News All American Blood Drive" on Thursday, June 30 and Friday, July 1, 2011, to help build our community's blood supply as we prepare for the long Independence Day Holiday weekend ahead.

Florida Blood Services will have bloodmobiles onsite from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., at the following locations in Zephyrhills and Dade City this week:

  • Sweetbay Supermarket, 7325 Gall Blvd, Zephyrhills (Jun 30)
  • Sweetbay Supermarket, 12530 US Hwy 301 S, Dade City (Jun 30)

Healthcare forum comes to Pasco

Dade City, Florida -- With so many healthcare options available to us, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. That's why non-profit center Premier Community HealthCare Group and TAD Congress will be presenting a Healthcare Forum on June 27, 2011 in Dade City (37912 Church Ave.), to introduce and clarify all the options available to consumers.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with a series of panels to follow throughout the day covering health insurance, Pasco health data, Pasco health resources, and a legislative health update. The forum is scheduled to last until 3 p.m.

Women now have more options for breast cancer diagnostics

Clearwater, FL -- Women in North Pinellas and Pasco counties will now have more options for breast cancer diagnostic services as Morton Plant Mease expands with two new Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center locations.

The new locations are part of the health system's integrated network of breast centers offering breast imaging and biopsy services performed by specialized board-certified physicians, nurses and technologists.

You'll find the new Pinellas location, Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center at Mease Countryside Hospital, in the Medical Arts Building located at 1840 Mease Drive in Safety Harbor.

The Pasco location, Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center at Morton Plant Mease Outpatient Center is located at 2102 Trinity Oaks Boulevard in Trinity.

The centers offer digital mammography and advanced diagnostic breast procedures and plan to provide follow-up diagnostic results within 48 hours.

Dedication honors new Blood Donor Center location

Florida Blood Services (FBS) is teaming up with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce at 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 to dedicate their recently opened New Port Richey Donor Center in service to the local community. 

Food and beverages will be served following brief remarks and the traditional ribbon cutting.  FBS donors, blood recipients and the public are invited to attend and all will receive a free gift. 

One special guest that will speak is New Port Richey Councilwoman Judy DeBella Thomas who received blood transfusions following the birth of her son over 20 years ago.  Blood donors gave her the ability to watch him grow up and he to have a loving mother.

Port Richey, FL -- The "Precautionary Boil Water Notice" issued on June 2 for customers affected by the 8-inch main break on Senic Dr. has been lifted.

The repairs have been completed and satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink has been completed.
