Pasco County to close regional shelter

New Port Richey, Florida-- Pasco County began assisting residents who stayed overnight at the Fasano Regional Hurricane Shelter back to their residences.

The county encourages residents to continue being cautious, despite the National Weather Service's removal of tropical storm warnings for Pasco.

"Residents still need to be aware of the possible threat of isolated tornados as Tropical Storm Isaac's rain bands move through Tampa Bay," county representatives said in a release.

The Flood Warning for the Anclote River at Elfers remains until Wednesday evening.

The Pasco County Government Offices, the School District and Health Department remain closed for today,  meaning the PCPT Transit Buses will not be in operation.

All Pasco County Services will resume normal hours on Tuesday, August 28.

For information and Customer Service, residents can call the Resident Information Center (RIC) at 727-847-8959/2411, or sign up for County news alerts
