Plans unveiled for new Pasco sports facility

Wesley Chapel, Florida -- First a baseball field complex, now an Olympic-sized ice rink that could lure Olympians to train in Pasco County.

Just a few miles from The Fields at Wiregrass, developers closed a deal Thursday to build Cypress Creek Ice and Sports Complex.

Dave Andreychuk was at today's event showing the Lightning's commitment to expanding youth hockey in the Bay area. The new sports complex may also be the future home of USF Hockey. The 150,000-square-foot facility will have four rinks total and a multi-sports center.

The complex should be open in fall 2015, bringing millions of dollars to Wesley Chapel with a new hotel to house competing teams.
