Senator Rubio to host 'Mobile Office Hours' in Pasco

Pasco County -- Throughout the month of August, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio’s staff will be hosting several “Mobile Office Hours” to meet with constituents and assist them with federal issues in their own communities.

For constituents who can’t visit the regional offices, these “Mobile Office Hours” offer a more convenient way to seek federal casework assistance.

Pasco School Board and County to team up on redistricting efforts

Pasco County, Florida – According to a Florida Constitution Article, the Board of County Commissioners is required to develop a redistricting plan every decennial census to keep Commission Districts as nearly equal in population as practical. Another section of the article, Florida Statutes, has a similar provision to keep school board member residence areas nearly equal as practicable.

Over the last number of weeks, County staff has been working on different options to give the respective boards an opportunity to review the revised maps.

Pasco County, Florida -- Senator Mike Fasano and Policyholders of Florida will be lining up along Little Road in front of the Pasco County Government Center (7530 Little Road, New Port Richey 34654)  on August 16 from 4-6 p.m. to wave signs and express their opposition to the proposed sinkhole rate increases sought by Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.  State Senator Mike Fasano invites all consumers to make a sign and come out and join him.
 
“It is time for our governor, chief financial officer, many of my colleagues in the legislature and the decision makers at the Office of Insurance Regulation to get the message that people can’t afford the outrageous premiums Citizens is seeking,” Senator Fasano states.  “Please join me on August 16th and let Tallahassee know that these rates are unacceptable.”

Scott reappoints two local men to Regional Planning Council

Governor Rick Scott announced nineteen reappointments and two appointments to eight regional planning councils throughout the state this week.

In the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, Region Eight, two appointments came from our neighborhood:

Charles D. Waller, 68, of Dade City, is an attorney for Waller & Scharber. He is reappointed for a term beginning June 21, 2011, and ending October 1, 2012.

Earl H. Young, 62, of Zephyrhills, is the executive vice president for Florida Traditions Bank. He is reappointed for a term beginning June 21, 2011, and ending October 1, 2012.

Both men are Pasco County Gubernatorial Appointees.

At this city manager meeting, manager John Schneiger will discuss the upcoming annual city budget along with general city financial issues, and listen to resident questions and concerns.

A continental breakfast has been kindly donated by Starbucks and the Friends of the New Port Richey Library.

Interim Human Resources Director Steven Rosenthal will facilitate setting the City Council's 20-year vision for New Port Richey, core values, guiding principles, and core purpose.

The Council will then consider what initiatives are necessary to make their vision a reality.
