Pasco welcomes county administrator candidates

Pasco County, Florida --The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners will host four candidates vying to become the County’s top staff member on May 23-24. One of the final four candidates will replace County Administrator John Gallagher, who will retire on June 1, after more than 31 years of public service.

The final four candidates are current Pasco County Chief Assistant County Administrator Michele Baker; Irving, Texas City Manager Tomas Gonzalez; Hillsborough County Director of Strategic Planning Eric Johnson; and former Escambia County Administrator Randy Oliver.

PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA-- Last summer the Senate and House passed legislation and, on July 6, 2012, the President signed into law the Federal Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States Act of 2012 (RESTORE Act), which holds the parties responsible for the Gulf oil disaster accountable for restoring the Gulf.

Pasco County hovernment hosts community meetings

Pasco County, Florida -- The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners will host three community meetings to discuss several topics including the 2013-2017 Strategic Plan, FY 2013-14 Budget, Penny for Pasco, road maintenance needs, and the upcoming National Citizen Survey (NCS) to be conducted May 3 - June 14.  The Board of County Commissioners will use the opinions and ideas shared during these meetings and from surveys to assist with upcoming budget decisions.

Senator Legg hosts legislative update

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Senator John Legg will provide a legislative update to the Pasco County School Board at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, in the district’s television studio.  Sen. Legg will discuss changes in education laws passed during the 2013 Legislative Session, which is scheduled to end on Friday, May 3.

The Board then will hold their regular meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the boardroom, followed by a workshop in the television studio on charter schools and the budget.

Clinton Avenue widening public info meeting

Pasco County, Florida -- There will be a public information meeting and construction project update on Thursday, May 9.

It will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 37015 Orange Valley Lane, Dade City.

The purpose of the meeting is for the construction contractor and Pasco County staff to provide project status and schedule updates, and answer questions regarding the Clinton Avenue Widening Project which extends from west of Fort King Highway to east of U.S. 301.
