Workers to break ground on new Wesley Chapel hospital

Wesley Chapel, FL - A ceremonial groundbreaking will take place tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. for the newest hospital in Florida, the UCH/Adventist Health System's Wesley Chapel Medical Center.

Construction starts right away and is expected to take up to 24 months and employ hundreds of construction workers, engineers and architects, as designs call for the hospital to truly be the latest and greatest, both inside and outside, for patients, employees and visitors, with state-of-the-art amenities.

Dade City officials discuss potential $6 million city hall redesign

Dade City officials discuss potential $6 million city hall redesign

Dade City, FL - On Tuesday, local architect Lisa Wannemacher of Wannemacher Jensen Architects met with Dade City officials at a 4:00 p.m. workshop. The meeting was set to assess progress on plans for the proposed new $6 million city hall and police department building. Commissioners say they want to see more dimension and options before they commit to any one design, and weren't ready to settle on the first draft.

After discussing the option of simply reworking the existing building at 38020 Meridian Avenue, recent meetings have shown a committee-wide preference for starting fresh. The U.S. Department of Agriculture still needs to determine the amount of funding they are willing to give as the processing of the city's application is finalized, which will decide how much more money needs to come from loans and, ultimately, the final budget the city has to work with.
