Prescribed burn at Lake Park

Bradenton, Florida -- The Florida Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn for the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department today, July 5 at Lake Park in Lutz.

The burn will last one day. The purpose of the burn is for ecological site management and hazardous fuels reduction.

City hires Wade Trim to create Waterfront Park plan

Port Richey, Florida -- The new and improved Waterfront Park in Port Richey has taken one step closer to being realized. 

The City of Port Richey announced Monday its Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board of Directors authorized Wade Trim to develop a Master Plan for Waterfront Park.

Pasco pools officially open for summer!

New Port Richey, Florida - The pools are open and ready for business in New Port Richey.

The dive and slide pools are ready for swimmers for open lap swimming on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The cost is $6. The daily fees vary. There are memberships available. Pools are available for private rentals. They can be rented on Saturday evenings between 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Reservations can be requested from the front desk.

The hours are from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at 6630 Van Buren Street in New Port Richey.

City Council approves new membership fees for Recreation & Aquatic Center

New Port Richey, Florida -- On May 7, the New Port Richey City Council approved new membership fees providing reasonable rates for the Recreation & Aquatic Center.

The new rates are as follows:

New daily rates are:  youth  $5, youth resident $4; seniors $6, senior resident  $5; adults $7, adult resident $6

A three-month membership is: youth $62, youth resident $50; seniors $94, senior resident $75; adults $125, adult resident $100; family $192, family resident $165

New Port Richey Rec & Aquatic Center 5-year anniversary

New Port Richey, Florida -- This weekend is a great time to celebrate a special anniversary!

Staff members at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center are thrilled to be taking part in the 5-year anniversary for the facility on Saturday, May 19.

The staff will be giving tours of the facility at 6630 Van Buren Street in New Port Richey. Attendees will now have the chance to meet the various class instructors.

The event will be held at 9 a.m.

RAP River Run and Cotee Man Triathalon will be taking applications.

The library describes the event:

"This film examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting animal-based and processed foods.
