County offices to close for In-Service Training Day

 

New Port Richey, FL -- Most Pasco County Government offices will be closed to the public on Monday, Feb. 20, for an In-Service Training Day. Staff will be receiving necessary training throughout the day. These government offices will reopen to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

The Clerk and Comptroller, Property Appraiser, Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector and the Courts will still be open for business as usual on Monday.

City of Port Richey to begin Waterfront Park plan

Port Richey, FL -- On Feb. 1, the Port Richey Community Redevelopment Agency Board of Directors decided to move forward with picking a consultant to help the city design a master plan to improve the Port Richey Waterfront Park. 

The city will begin the process of looking for a consulting firm that has public park planning and  civil and environmental engineering experience to create the plan. The public will be invited to comment on the planning process for the phased improvement plan for the Waterfront Park property.

On Saturday evening, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m., Acme Outdoor Movie Company will host the Land O Lakes premiere of "The Glass Window", a family-friendly movie with strong Tampa Bay connections that was seen on national TV as an Easter special. The movie is geared for young people in middle school, teens and adults.

New Port Richey considers alcohol ordinance

New Port Richey, Florida - It's a hot-button issue in many communities - alcohol ordinances.

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, it will be discussed in New Port Richey.

The New Port Richey City Council will consider a first hearing of Ordinance 2012-1983, which allows the consumption of alcoholic beverages purchased at local venues to be consumed off-premise, in specific City rights-of-way, during special events.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers.

Public input is welcomed and appreciated.

Enjoy guided nature hikes and kayaking, biking, birding, eco-cruises and educational programs. More than 70 activities will be offered throughout the weekend, from free to nominal charges, including Saturday evening bonfires, a drumming circle and star-gazing.

The Partnership for a Tobacco-Free Pasco is putting the public meeting together.

It is set to take place on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 3-4 p.m.

Pasco Sheriff dedicates playground

Dade City, Florida - Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco attended the dedication of the new Dade Oaks Playground on September 14 at 9 a.m.

St. Leo University donated over $12,000 to the Dade Oaks Housing Development to purchase equipment for the community.

The address of the new playground is 37460 Acorn Loop in Dade City.
