Local school to host golf tournament

Odessa, FL -- Grab you clubs and take advantage of the opportunity to not only help support your local school but play at one of the best golf courses in the country.

Odessa Christian School is hosting its 4th Annual Golf Tournament to help raise money for their school on April 2, however, now is the time to sign up to participate in the tournament.

The tournament is being held at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Resort and Club.

Eagles Golf Club files for bankruptcy

Odessa, FL -- The owner of the Eagles Golf Club near Odessa has filed for bankruptcy due to failing revenues.


The company operates two golf courses at the Eagles Golf Club and the company's revenues fell from $3.7 million in 2008 to just over $2 million in 2010.


Bankruptcy documents show its biggest lender is Textron Financial, which it owes more than $6 million.


The golf club plans to stay open throughout its bankruptcy according to an attorney representing the company.

Dade City, FL -- It's that time of year again. Little Leaguers are grabbing the gloves and swinging the bats.


If Dade City is your zone, registration begins Wednesday. Here are the dates and times you need to know:


Jan. 12 -14  6-8 p.m.


Jan. 15  9 a.m. until noon


Just head out to Burks Park, 13220 Gene Nelson Blvd. to register.

Adult Flag Football League registration open

Odessa, FL - Adult 4-on-4 Flag Football Leagues are forming now for Wednesday night play beginning in January 2011. Game times are 6:45 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. The cost is $250 for an eight member team and includes t-shirts and awards. The league is open for ages 18 and up.

League play will be held at the Keystone Recreation Center at 17928 Gunn Highway. You can register at the center or call Charlie Jones at 813-744-5595 ext. 225 for more information on the league. Registration continues through the month of December.
