Clinton Avenue Project kicks off Aug. 30

Dade City, Florida -- Pasco County has announced the Clinton Avenue Project will start construction on Aug. 30, with the installation of the Maintenance of Traffic signage and field survey work.   

The project, from 1,000 feet west of Fort King Highway to U.S. 301, will be completed by the summer of 2014. 

The first six months of the project will result in the relocation of private utilities within the project area and the remaining 15 months will involve the road work and the installation of a new water main.

Majority of I-75 north and southbound lanes closed in Pasco

Pasco County, Florida-- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office tell us the majority of both north and southbound lanes in Pasco County are closed due to two separate and unrelated traffic accidents.

Northbound lanes of I-75  from SR 56 to SR 54 are shutdown, and southbound lanes of I-75 from SR 50 in Hernando to SR 56 in Pasco County are shut down. 

Officials say the accidents are being investigated by FHP.  The Pasco Sheriff's Office assists.

Pasco County, Florida -- FDOT has released lane closures for the week of July 15 through July 21.

The closures are listed below:

SR 52 between Lake Ray Drive and Thomas Jefferson Road/Stadium Drive

Striping – Nightly lane closures Sunday – Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Alternate US 19 between Pinellas County Line and US 19

Repaving – Daily lane closures Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

County releases damage report update

County releases damage report update

New Port Richey, Florida -- With the evacuation order rescinded and the Anclote and Pithlachascotee Rivers receding, County officials have started to gather information on damages caused by Tropical Storm Debby.

Emergency responders are still concentrating efforts on flooded areas within the impacted area and maintaining traffic control.

Portion of SR 54 closed in New Port Richey

New Port Richery, Florida-- Pasco Sheriff's deputies announced the closure of a portion of State Road 54 in New Port Richey due to rising flood waters.

SR 54 will be closed from Old Mill Pond Drive to Celtic Drive.

Detours will be at Old Mill Pond Drive for those heading west, and Thys Road or Madison Road for those heading east.

Water on the road is at least 14 inches deep and conditions are worsening.
