Pasco County, Fla. -- Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT) announces the beginning of the first cross-county bus service beginning Monday, March 5, 2012.

Route 54 destinations include: Medical Center of Trinity, Mitchell Ranch Plaza, Target in Odessa, The Shops at Wiregrass, The Grove and Zephyrhills City Library/Hall.

This will open the 54 Corridor to residents travelling to and from work, medical facilities and shopping centers using public transportation opportunities.

Zephyrhills, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to evaluate alternative improvements for U.S. 301/S.R. 41 (Gall Blvd.) in Pasco County.

A PD&E study is a comprehensive study that evaluates social, cultural, economic and environmental effects associated with the proposed transportation improvements. This includes consideration of the effects on the community and the quality of life of its citizens.

Zephyrhills, Florida -- Zephyrhills Festival Park will be the site of the 38th Annual Winter AutoFest, Feb. 23 through Feb. 26.

The event will be four days of fun which includes a huge swap meet and car corral.

Exhibitions include racing on the 1/3-mile unbanked dirt track with stock cars, sprint cars and midgets from the 1930's through the 1960's.

Dade City, FL -- Dade City Police have announced a list of road detours and closings during this weekend's Kumquat Festival.

There is a well-marked detour route for those traveling North and South on 7th St. as well as for those traveling East on Meridian Ave.

As part of the City’s 2011 Sewer Improvements Project, New Port Richey utility crews, along with construction crews, will be installing new sewer mains along Gulf Drive causing lane closures beginning Jan. 10.

The single lane closures during the day will be on Gulf Drive from James Street to Magnolia Way and will continue for approximately two weeks. The City apologizes for any inconvenience to its residents and visitors.

New Port Richey, FL -- The latest multi-agency checkpoint held on Dec. 16, resulted in 6 DUI arrests along with 61 other arrests for criminal and traffic-related activity.

The FHP reported deputies stopped 1,034 vehicles during the Comprehensive Roadside Safety, Drivers License, License Plate, DUI and Equipment Inspection Checkpoint at the SouthGate Shopping Center, located at 5127 U.S. Highway 19 in New Port Richey.

Ridge Manor, FL -- On Dec. 15, a public hearing for the proposed design changes to the I-75 project corridor from north of S.R. 52 in Pasco County to south of C.R. 476B in Sumter County will be held at the Ridge Manor Community Center.

An informal open house will begin at 5 p.m. and the formal public hearing will begin at 6 p.m.
