Hog-hunting mom charged with child neglect

New Port Richey, Florida - A woman has been accused of leaving children in a cold car while she went hog hunting on Thursday morning.

"I couldn't believe that somebody would actually leave their kids in the car and go hog hunting," said Curt Albrecht, a family acquaintance who lives near the woman. 

Around 5 a.m., a Pasco County Sheriff's Deputy arrived at Glades Avenue in New Port Richey.

Naked man slaps officer in face

Lutz, Florida -- A 25-year-old man was arrested Saturday after he attacked a deputy responding to a call about a naked man causing a disturbance outside a Lutz home.

The deputy arrived at the home in the 1800 block of Tinsmith Circle around 6 a.m. after a neighbor called police to report Morris Reynolds was "completely naked and jumping up and down awakening and startling neighbors."

Pasco government critic pays tax bill in singles

DADE CITY, Florida (AP) - An outspoken critic of Pasco County government paid her $11,075.44 tax bill in dollar bills, plus 44 pennies.

The Tampa Tribune reports Julann Roe brought the stash of cash to the county office complex on Monday.

Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano says it took several employees more than an hour to count and verify it.

Man pretends to be a cop to get discounted donuts

Trinity, Florida -- Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man for impersonating a cop and flashing his gun improperly while demanding a discount on his donuts and coffee.

48-year-old Charles "Chuck" Barry was arrested on Tuesday.

At the New Port Richey Dunkin Donuts off of 10829 State Road 54, employees captured video surveillance of Barry flashing what deputies say was his late father's retired police badge from New Jersey.

Mysterious animal spotted in Zephyrhills neighborhood

Zephyrhills, Florida -- There was an unusual visitor in Pasco County Thursday morning.

Deputies were called to a Zephyrhills neighborhood after someone spotted a strange animal in their yard and couldn't identify it.

When the deputies got to the 37,000 block of Dunbar Avenue, they saw the creature... and were also baffled at what it was. The animal was friendly, at least, and they were able to coax it into a cruiser. 

Pasco County man accused of exorcism of girlfriend

HOLIDAY, FL (AP) - Authorities in Pasco County say a 54-year-old man held down his 80-year-old girlfriend and tried to "exorcise her and the get the devil out of her."

David Edward Benes remained in jail Thursday following his arrest on charges that include domestic battery on a person older than 65, tampering with a witness and false imprisonment.

Drunk woman holds up drive-thru lane, demands free food

New Port Richey, Florida -- An intoxicated woman with no sense of time was arrested Sunday morning after she refused to leave a McDonald's drive-thru and demanded free food.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say 34-year-old Kimberly Womack pulled into the drive-thru in the 7200 block of SR 54 around 6:03 a.m. and demanded they give her two free Big Macs because she was unsatisfied with the ones she had last time she was there. 

When they told her they didn't have Big Macs because they were only serving breakfast, she then demanded they give her two free Egg McMuffins instead.
